Introduction to the Bible

In the first two lessons we covered the nature of the Bible and some ways and means of studying the Bible. In this lesson I want to introduce you to some of the characteristics and facts about the Bible that make it a truly unique book. The book that you hold in your hand every Sunday morning and teach from is quite amazing! To some it is just a collection of old myths and tales that someone collected and put together a long time ago. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Bible is a revelation from God with a unique history and a fascinating background. You may be surprised to learn that is a library of many books. Books of history, law, poetry, music, prophecy, love stories, doctrine and more.

Lesson Objectives:

  1. Familiarize the student with the structure of the Bible by means of a basic survey of the Bible.

  2. Introduce the student to some of the basic facts about the Bible.

  3. To help the student to understand and appreciate the Bible by developing a greater awareness of it's historical reliability, theological unity,  amazing prophecies, and more.
