Tips and Ideas for Pre-School Workers

This is your section. It belongs to all who work with pre-schoolers. If you have a good idea that you would like to share. Send it in to us you may find that it will appear here.

Communicating on THEIR level...

I have noticed that sometimes children's workers have a tendency to use words and terms that the children do not really understand. From time to time it is important that we check our communication skills with our students. Here is a little test that you can have some fun with. I have seen this test come close to bringing seminary students and aspiring theologians to tears. Now everyone can tell you what Born Again, Justified, Sanctification, Regeneration,  Reconciliation, Atonement, Baptism, Repentance, Rapture, the Church, Prophecy and other doctrinal and Biblical terms mean.............. or can they?????

Make a list of the major Christian Doctrines and Biblical terms that you hear mentioned in everyday Church life. Now here is the challenge, you must define these terms in a manner that 4 or 5 year olds can understand. That means you can use a definition four to five words long and no word in the definition can have more than two syllables. Have fun!!! (You might want to visit your local Christian bookstore and invest in a Children's Bible Dictionary before you do this.)

Involving Pre-School in ministry

So many times we think that preschoolers cannot do anything to add to the ministry of the church. That is not true! Here is a way to get your preschool children involved in visitation ministry. This helps to train them to be involved in visitation from an early age. (Can you imagine raising a generation of children that thought it was normal for everyone to be involved in visitation.) Below is a sample ( Front and Back) of a card we use to get our preschoolers involved in our outreach and visitation. Just color and address!
